King of Flames: Kathryn Ann Kingsley (A Quintillion Reads Book Review)

This isn’t my usual genre so I was really unsure what to expect, but wow! I had no idea just how much I would love this book.

Lydia is a normal girl who suddenly wakes up with a mysterious tattoo, she suddenly realises that there is no longer a “normal” instead she is trapped in a world of myths and legends. A time ruled by two kings who turn others into creatures.

Lydia is pulled deeper into the world and is noticed by a king, she is considered a threat. She knows she needs to escape, however the other king wants her there and wants her alive. But why?

Written in a way that completely engages the reader from the very beginning. The main character of this book is extremely likeable and real.

This book has really surprised me, it couldn’t be more different than my usual genre. However, I have really enjoyed reading this book. It has been an absolute pleasure to read this book.

The plot is engaging and I love how quickly the events unfold within this book. Kingsley has created complex scenes which are easy to follow and understand.

This is the first book I’ve read by Kingsley, it definitely won’t be my last, despite my reluctance I have for trying new authors, I have loved reading this book.

I have loved the escape to another place whilst reading this book. I could easily imagine this as a TV Show or film. I would definitely want to watch. I cannot wait to read the next instalment of this series. I am definitely hooked.
